NAEYC Codes of Ethics and Professional Life

I-2.3—To welcome all family members and encourage them to participate in the program.

We encourage parental involvement because it helps the child to transition into a new setting more smoothly. The parents are able to understand and support their child’s education.

I-3A.2—To share resources with co-workers, collaborating to ensure that the best possible early childhood care and education program is provided.

We have all heard the saying, “There is no I in team.” We are creating a positive work environment by supporting one another and building a relationship by teaching and sharing each other’s knowledge and skills.

I-1.5—To create and maintain safe and healthy settings that foster children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development and that respect their dignity and their contributions.

Each child should feel as if they belong. By respecting each child we can build their self-esteem and help them to feel that they are capable of anything in life. We must maintain a safe and healthy environment in order for our children to feel a sense of security.
